Guiza and Semih performed the desired double act to give Fenerbahce their first win under Luis Aragones yesterday and both players vow there is more to come.
The Kadikoy club played their fourth and final friendly at home against Shakthar Donesk, winning 2-1 and totally dominating from start to finish.
Despite their dominance the yellow and navy side could not break the deadlock in the first half, but a goal on 46 minutes from Guiza and a second by his strike partner Semih 11 minutes later was enough to see off the Ukraine side whose only consolation came through Brandao 6 minutes from time.
Guiza and Semih, or GAS for short, have certainly placed their foot on the accelerator and claim they will rack up plenty of goals on the clock next season.
Speaking after yesterday's match, the Turkish goal king said, “We haven’t played many games together but I think we will complement each other well next season. Our last game against Shakthar showed how lethal we can be so the opposition defenders better watch out.”
The Spanish goal king agreed with his strike partner saying, “The fan turnout wasn’t like I thought it would be but the game itself went well. Semih and I did well and we will do our best to make our fans happy next season.” The two together look very likely to become the Kings of the Turkcell Super Lig road...
