Sunderland manager Roy Keane is lining up a £6.7million pound offer for Fenerbahce striker Semih Senturk.

The Black Cats have a sizeable transfer kitty as they look to strengthen for next season but are finding it difficult to attract new players to the North-East of England.

A number of offers have been rejected and most recently, despite having an offer of £14million pounds accepted by Tottenham Hotspur for 4 players (Pascal Chimbonda, Steed Malbranque, Teemu Tanio and Younes Kaboul), only one appears to welcome the move.

Defender Pascal Chimbonda has opened talks with the Wearside club but Younes Kaboul, who has been told he has no future at Spurs, rejected Sunderland’s initial approach by stating, “even an Earthquake” would not make him move there.

Roy Keane is still hopeful of sealing a deal for the quartet and Daily Mirror reports the Sunderland spending spree will also reach out to Istanbul.  Keane is hunting for a new striker as Kenwyne Jones will miss 2 months of the new season and wants Semih to fill the void.

Anglofeb understands Fenerbahce are closing in on Switzerland striker Eren Derdiyok and if successful the Kadikoy club may listen to offers for Semih as they look to bring in a new defensive midfielder.

Your view:

Should Fenerbahce sell Semih Senturk?

1.  No way, he is more than just a player.  He is Fenerbahce through-and-through.

2.  I would rather not, but if we get a decent offer we should at least consider it.

3.  Only if we use the money to help bring in a better defensive midfielder than otherwise possible

4.  Only if we complete the signing of Eren Derdiyok or another striker

5.  Why not, everybody has a price

avatar 2, but what does Semih think of this?

Semih is one of the players I want to see retire as a FB legend. But then again, so were Aurelio and Tuncay...

He hasn't publically been announced as Fenerbahce's first choice striker, and may just give up on trying to have a permanent place at Fenerbahce despite all he has shown. He could follow the path Tuncay is trying to take: play well for 1-2 seasons at a "low tier" Premiership team, get TONS of exposure and move to a bigger club. I think Semih and his family likes Istanbul though and might not want to take the move even if the club wants to pursue it.

avatar 1. I do not want to see him leave. But if it is his wish, then I am fine with it.

avatar 2.

I love Semih but we also have to start making money on our players or else they will end up like tuncay and aurelio.
