Fenerbahce made it a hat-trick of draws in the third and final preseason game in Austria, tying 1-1 with Ceske Budejovice of the Czech Republic.

Luis Aragones fielded a second string team giving him a chance to analyse fringe players in a competitive game.

Volkan Babacan started in goal with Captain Onder Turaci, Yasin Cakmak, Can Arat and Gurhan Gursoy making up the defensive quartet.  New signing Burak Yilmaz, Claudio Maldonado and Ali Bilgin formed the midfield with Mateja Kezman, Ilhan Parlak and record signing Dani Guiza leading the attack.

Fenerbahce started brightly with Guiza opening his Canaries’ account after just nine minutes.  The striker nicknamed ‘The Marksman’ found the target with a well placed header providing a glimpse of what the Sukru Saracoglu faithful can expect next season.

Despite enjoying a bulk of the possession a lapse in concentration at the back allowed Ceske back into the game through Sedlacek on the stroke of half-time.

Try as they might the Fenerbahce strikers could not breach the stubborn Ceske defence, ending yet another game on level terms.  The next friendly is against Shakthar Donesk at Sukru Saracoglu on Wednesday, maybe Aragones can taste his first win as Fenerbahce coach in that match.
