Out-of-favour Besiktas defender Ibrahim Toraman has issued a come-and-get-me plea to his club’s fiercest rivals.
Ibrahim is currently transfer listed by the Black Eagles following a bust-up with club captain Ibrahim Uzulmez.
The two were fined a record 100,000YTL each (£40,000, €50,000, $80,000) and declared surplus to requirements. Whilst Uzulmez is allowed to leave on a free transfer, the siyahbeyazlilar have slapped a €4.5million price tag on Toraman which is deterring interest. Earlier in the week a newspaper article on one of the Turkish daily’s claimed the 26-year-old would refuse any approach made from Fenerbahce or Galatasaray as he is 'Besiktas through-and-through'.
The player himself has rubbished these reports and confirmed, “I am a professional and would play for either club. I have let my agent know that he is free to speak to Fenerbahce or Galatasaray should they be interested in signing me.”
Ibrahim Toraman joined Besiktas from Gaziantepspor in 2004 and has since seen his popularity grow amongst the Inonu faithful. Many are still coming to terms with the defender's exit, but if he were to leave for an Istanbul rival their misery would double.
Your view: Should Fenerbahce bid for Ibrahim Toraman? Would he provide good defensive cover?
