Tumer returns to FenerThe third round of Fenerbahce player medicals was held at Istanbul Acibadem Hospital today and among them was a returning Tumer Metin.

There had been much debate on whether Tumer would come back to the Yellow Canaries after spending 3 months on loan at Greek team Larissa last season.  However, as previously reported on anglofeb, a change in National Service laws increasing the age limit for Turkish sportsman paved the way for a homecoming.

By attending the medical today, it appears the 33-year-old has put all rumours to rest by snubbing suitors Olympiakos to see out the final year of his Fenerbahce contract.

Incidentally at the medicals, Brazilian stars Roberto Carlos and Edu Dracena were first to be put their paces and both came out with glowing reports.  Carlos looked raring to go after successfully shaking off the knee injury which kept him out for 3 months last season.

Shortly after his defensive colleagues Gokhan Gonul, arguably Fenerbahce’s find of the season last term, followed.  The 23-year-old was pleased to hear that he too has fully recovered from the foot injury which kept him out of Euro 2008.
