Sports daily Fanatik caught up with Fenerbahce transfer target Frederic Kanoute and discovered that 'anything is possible' regarding a move to the Yellow Canaries.
Reporter Mehmet Demircan interviewed the Sevilla striker who confirmed Fenebahce's interest but did not comment on whether he would be moving to the Istanbul giants, "Yes, I am well aware of Fenerbahce's interest. I have another 2 years on my contract at Sevilla and must act professionally. I cannot comment on what might happen because anything is possible in the next few days."
The journalist also did the age old Turkish media 'scoop' trick of preparing a jersey with a name and number on the back for the player to hold for an exclusive photograph. However, Kanoute politely declined by saying, "Please understand me, if I was to take a photo like that I could face problems with my club."
The 30 year old is a devout Muslim well renown for funding the running of a mosque and helping underprivileged children in his home country. Many believe that his close affinity with his religion may be an important factor for Kanoute choosing to join Fenerbahce over other possible suitors.
