Kayserispor President Recep Mamur looks to have accepted that Mehmet Topuz will be on the move this summer.  The Turkish media speculate Fenerbahce to be the most likely destination.

 

Mamur held a meeting with his club captain about extending his 1 year deal with the Fortis Turkey Cup winners.  However, negotiations hit a stalemate after Topuz declined an offer said to be, “higher than what he would get at another club.” 

 

In a TV interview after the 3 hour discussions Mamur confirmed, “Mehmet has another year to run on his current deal.  We have made him a generous offer to keep him at Kayserispor for longer but he declined.  We have a good relationship with Mehmet and he loves the club but we couldn’t reach an agreement.  If another club pays our asking price we would not stand in Mehmet’s way.” 

 

The Kayserispor Chief reaffirmed his ambition of keeping his star players and building a squad strong enough to mount a title challenge next season.  It is no secret that Kayserispor rejected several offers for Mehmet Topuz in the past including a whopping €11M Euro (£8.75M, $17.5M USD) last minute offer from Besiktas in the January transfer window.   

 

This failed negotiation now changes things and Mamur will not want to risk losing his star man on a Bosman next year.  He will listen to offers and stresses that, “interested clubs must speak with us first.” 

 

A number of Turkish newspapers believe Fenerbahce is Mehmet Topuz’s preferred choice and the Kadikoy club are known admirers of the midfielder.  Turkish daily Sabah claim Fenerbahce will test Kayserispor’s resolve by tabling a €6M Euro (£4.75M, $9.5M USD) bid.

there are other suiters to compete with and although it is reported he likes Fener, people always go where the biggest offer is despite who they like.

avatar The official site states that we are not interested in signing him as he is priced too highly...

So I would say 3 as it shows we have enquired about him and this could just be a strategy to bring his fee down!
