In an announcement published on Fenerbahce.org the club stated:

"There have been reports on some internet sites and news agencies across Turkey that claim our manager Zico and his lawyer attended a meeting at our club's headquarters to discuss terms of his contract renewal with president Aziz Yildirim, under the headline of 'Zico is in the meeting room'. These are completely false. We can confirm that no member of the club or designated attorneys have arranged any sort of meeting to discuss any terms of a contract renewal."

The club officials are clearly waiting for the season to end before negotiating with Zico or any player out of contract at the end of the season.
