Upon returning from Ali Sami Yen last night, Fenerbahce players and coaching staff were subjected to abuse from dozen of ‘fans’ awaiting them at Samandira Training Facilities.

A group of so-called Fenerbahce supporters gave their team members a hostile reception after losing 1-0 to bitter rivals Galatasaray.  Whilst some vented their frustration and anger through verbal abuse others went on to punch and kick the team bus.

A few who were clearly not finished hang around to attack Mateja Kezman’s car as he was driving off the premises.  The Serbian striker stopped to question the actions of these yobs but was then subjected to Turkish and English expletives which he responded to.  It has also been reported that Alex de Souza’s vehicle had a beer bottle thrown at it.

Today the club have issued an announcement on fenerbahce.org stating there will be an official enquiry into these incidents and those found guilty will be charged.  The club will cooperate with police and local authorities to ensure the capturing of all individuals involved in these attacks.

These shameful scenes show that whilst the club is striving to better itself and develop onto the global stage, some loser fans are still stuck in 80s hooligan mentality.
