Things are very tight at the top of the table with both these teams on 70 points, although the Yellow Canaries narrowly head the league by a single goal.  Not far behind them is Sivasspor who will be hoping to get three points from Denizlispor a day before and go level on points with the top 2.

Fenerbahce have been preparing for the derby showdown behind closed doors as Zico has made his demands very clear to the players.  The Brazilian coach wants to secure the league title by firstly winning at Ali Sami Yen and follow that up with 3 points against Genclerbirligi at home the following week.  6 points from the next 2 matches will make the potentially tricky final day away fixture at Trabzonspor nothing more than a stroll in the park. 

It is anticipated that Zico will drop Colin-Kazim Richards to the bench and move Deivid de Souza over to the right wing.  Ugur Boral will be drafted back in to the left flank with Gokcek Vederson covering behind him.  Mateja Kezman is expected to keep his place ahead of Semih Senturk, with the Turkish international coming on for the last half hour or so.

Galatasaray are sweating over the fitness of striker Umit Karan who will undergo a late fitness test.  Should Umit be deemed fit to play, he will lead the attack with Lincoln behind him in a similar formation to Fenerbahce.  Should the 31 year old miss out Shabani Nonda will replace him with the veteran Hakan Sukur sitting on the bench.

The last meeting between the sides ended with a 2-0 Yellow Canaries’ victory with Semih Senturk and Deivid de Souza netting the goals at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
