Speculation is rife that Roberto Carlos will not feature in any of the remaining matches for the championship run in.
As reported on anglofeb.com yesterday, Carlos received official permission to travel out to Brazil until the weekend after next. The reason behind his surprise trip was not confirmed despite the inappropriate timing as the league season draws to a close. A number of Turkish newspapers have today claimed that the reason behind the sudden voyage is directly associated with the Brazilian’s ongoing injury problems sustained after colliding with Sevilla defender Escude.
The 35 year old has played less than 60 minutes of football since 20 February 2008 and it is feared that the extent of his injury was wrongfully diagnosed by club doctor Piyer Arzuman.
Arzuman is already under fire following the misdiagnosis of injuries to Stephen Appiah and Serdar Kulbilge. Appiah is still out after more than 5 months and Serdar took a long while to return to full fitness, yet on each occasion club officials were told the rehabilitation period would be shorter.
Incidentally Carlos was reported to be ready for action ‘within 10 days’ but that is clearly not the case.
