Fenerbahce left back Roberto Carlos has declared himself fit to play against Kayserispor on Saturday evening which is a huge boost for Zico ahead of the tough fixtures coming up.  

The Brazilian superstar has been out of action since picking up a shin injury against Sevilla in Champions League Last 16 first leg tie on 20 February.  The club doctors had insisted that Carlos would make a return within 10 days despite various media reports claiming he would be out for 4 weeks or more. 

The 34 year old was expected to play against Besiktas last week but failed a late fitness test.  It was then assumed his return would be against Chelsea for the Champions League quarter final first leg but that never materialised either.  However, Carlos should feature in the second leg especially if he gets a full 90 minute run out against Kayserispor tomorrow night. 

The legendary full back had a brief meeting with Zico and club doctor Piyer Arzuman after yesterday’s training session and said, “I still have slight pains but these should not prevent me from playing against Kayserispor.  I want to play but the final decision is yours [Zico].” 

With the second leg with Chelsea just days away Zico may well take Carlos up on his offer.
