Mateja Kezman has revealed that he enjoys playing against Besiktas and claimed that his best performances have against the Black Eagles.

Speaking to the press after this afternoon’s training session, the Fenerbahce striker said, “My manager, teammates and fans have been very supportive and kept faith in me throughout my difficult period earlier this season.  I believe I have repaid them with my form since returning from injury.”

Kezman has netted 9 goals in 8 league games and wants to be the Goal Krali (Goal King) at the end of the season.  However, he also admits that the current leader is worthy of his position, “Semih Senturk leads the race and I would be just as happy if he won it.  After all we are all a part of the same team and every time we have been in bother during matches, Semih has come to our rescue.  I am susceptible to losing my motivation when sitting on the bench but not him, he is always focused.  I think he is more than equipped to play in Europe.”

The Serbian goal ace then drew attention to the challenging fortnight ahead.  “The next 15 days is a crucial stage of our season.  The 2 games against Chelsea are as important to the whole of Turkey as they are to us.  We have the chance to make history and as players we are prepared.”

The 28-year-old then answered questions regarding the Besiktas derby to be played at Inonu Stadium on Saturday evening.  “I love playing against Besiktas.  I scored at Inonu last season in the penultimate title decider and also got the winner in the Super Cup final.  I want to keep this run going and I also think that we are the better team.”

Pow!  That is fighting talk from Fenerbahce's very own 'Batman'
